The only spot in Caloundra offering at least some protection from a southeast winds. Moffat beach is un-patrolled. Dicky Beach Surf Life Saving Club sends roving patrols down the beach during peak periods. Tooway Lake offers protected swimming. Water quality is not always ideal for swimming and is dependant on weather conditions. Water quality is usually best when the lake is opened to the sea.

FEATURES:Covered playground, Open playground, BBQ’s, Covered picnic area, Toilets, Telephone, Café/shops. The park offers a great family atmosphere and there is always a weekend cricket game in the park for the kids.
SURFING:On a strong southeast swell Moffat’s offers a long spilling right-hand wave popular with the long-board riders. The body boarders have been known to ride the shore break, which can get quite heavy on a high tide. A 20 minute paddle straight out will get an experienced surfer only to Caloundra reef. A heavy barrelling wave, on its day can be compared to pipeline. The conditions have to be right with a solid swell with a light westerly offshore wind a good starting point. If you catch it when it is on you will never forget the experience. The spot should only be surfed by an experienced wave rider.
FISHING:Can be fished in the evening or early morning for mixed results.
WALKING:: Stroll around the rocks north to Shelly beach, south to Dicky beach.
